Animal Research in Switzerland: From proper study design to weighing of interests

Why does the Swiss constitution protect the dignity of humans and animals? What does that mean for animal research? How do you properly design a study with animals? What can go wrong if you don’t? Grab a beer and ask anything you want to know about animal research in Switzerland.

Servan Grüninger, EPFL Alumnus and biologist-turned-biostatistician, works on improving reproducibility and good statistical practice in animal research and knows the legal, ethical and scientific quandaries that involving animals in research poses. He regularly writes about the issue of animal research in Swiss newspapers and works in the animal research commission of the canton of Zurich. Everybody interested in the issue of animal research is welcome to join this short talk followed by an interactive disussion.
