FameLab-Semifinale in Basel und Lausanne

Do you have a passion for science and think it is your duty to share it with society? Come and join FameLab 2018 - the international competition for science communication - and become the new face of science in Switzerland!

Are you passionate about science and do you think it is your duty to share it with the society? You love to entertain your family and friends with the latest scientific discovery or fun science facts? And do you like to challenge yourself and test your public speaking skills?

Come and join FameLab 2018, the international competition for science communication, and become the new face of science in Switzerland!

Amaze the audience and jury with an original 3-minute talk on a scientific topic of your choice. Be scientifically accurate, but understandable and fun! No slides allowed but you can bring on stage props or your best costume!

Get inspired by the 2017 winner of FameLab Switzerland 2017, Katarina Cisarova, and the 2017 FameLab International winner Tshiamo Legoale from South Africa.

The FameLab events for 2018 have been planned as follows:
• 2 semi-finals in Lausanne (French or English) and Basel (German or English) on April 12th 
• Masterclass weekend tought by the scientist and adventurer James Huw at CERN in Geneva, on April 21st-22nd for the 10 finalists
• Swiss final in Bern, on May 17th
• International competition at Cheltenham Science Festival, on June 5th-10th

The competition is open to everyone studying or working in natural sciences and engineering. Please check whether you are eligible according to the detailed rules prior registration and make sure that you are free on each planned date.
